Process
As an interior designer myself, I understand the creative and technical effort behind your projects. My goal is to bring added value to your designs by capturing their essence and supporting you every step of the way during the photography process.
1. Initiate
After receiving your inquiry, we’ll set up a 40-minute call to discuss your project. I’ll then walk you through my approach to photography and explain how I capture editorial-ready images.
2. Proposal
If we’re a good fit, I’ll send you a quote outlining the project scope and fees. When the quote is accepted, you’ll receive a booking confirmation to pay a 50% retainer to secure your photoshoot.
3. Pre-Production
Depending on the project, we’ll nail down any day-of details like hiring a stylist, editorial storyboarding, or creating a shot list. I’ll also help guide you through the pre-shoot coordination for you and your team.
4. Execute
On the shoot day, it’s totally up to you how involved you’d like to be. I’m happy to go in independently and shoot based on the shot list and direction we’ve discussed, or I can have my camera tethered, and we can work collaboratively.
5. Post-Production
I will send you the first set of proofs through an online album about three days later. These images will only have a light edit applied. From here you’ll select the images for me to edit fully.
6. Wrap-up
With in two to three weeks from when you make your selections, I’ll send an online gallery to view and download your fully edited images. Final payment is required before releasing the final images.
Interior and lifestyle photography that stands out.
FAQs
When should I reach out to book my photoshoot?
The sooner, the better. As a reference point, typically, from the initial inquiry to getting images, delivery can take between 8 to 10 weeks.
Also, to get the most out of our collaboration, we’ll need at least three weeks for pre-photoshoot prep, such as shot lists and styling details.
Who can use the images from our session?
You and me only, please! As outlined in the contract we sign prior to the session, my clients must contact me when a third party asks to use the images. Who is a “third party”? Anyone other than you and me, from trades on your project to furniture suppliers.
What do you need to get started on a project proposal?
Once you send an inquiry, we’ll set up a time to talk by phone and discuss the project type, scope, shot list, location details, image quantity, budget, delivery deadline, and what you’d like to accomplish from the shoot.
How can other consultants or trades gain access to the images?
If you know prior to the session that someone else on the project team wants to use the images, please let me know. I offer a split fee arrangement. This reduces the overall investment of each party. If they inquire after the shoot, direct them to me so they can purchase a per-image license.
When do I receive my finished photos?
I will send the first set of proofs within a week. These proofs will usually be partially edited. For fully edited images, you can expect to have them within three to four weeks from the shoot date.
How can I get published in a magazine?
Although I can’t guarantee that your images will make it into a publication, planning prior to the photoshoot is key to creating a successful narrative. Let me know, and we can discuss things like storyboarding and editorial image licensing.
Have a different type of shoot in mind for your project?
I love hearing about new ideas or creative collaborations! Let me know, and we can discuss package variations.
